Homemade Tortilla Chips

My husband and I just returned from a long weekend in Cabo San Lucas. The resort where we stayed had awesome housemade tortilla chips that were almost like thin slices of bread. They held their own as we scooped huge chunks of fresh guacamole, pico de gallo and salsa verde. Needless to say, Tostitos will simply never be allowed into this house ever again.

This is also a great activity to do with your kids. We had fun brushing olive oil onto baking sheets. Then we cut corn tortillas into strips and laid them in a single layer on the sheets. We brushed a little more oil on top of them then baked at 350 for about 20 minutes. Really depends on your oven so just watch them. The last batch we sprinkled with sugar and cinnamon and ate for dessert!

Happy eating!
